In today’s competitive marketplace everyone in a company’s organization needs to be looking at creative ways to increase quality and reduce cost. The machining expense associated with the manufacturing of tooling is the most expensive part of the entire process.
Our vacuum heat-treat department is operated slightly different than most commercial shops. We base our existence on giving our customers better quality and service than our competition. In doing so we utilize only the best quality equipment we can find in the world. Everything we process is controlled using control thermocouples planted in real parts.
All tool steel is vacuum tempered. We temper nothing in atmosphere. Components that require optimum performance are processed in our cryogenic department as part of the heat treat process. We run only dedicated cycles for our customers. This eliminates any compromises that would normally be made by the majority of commercial heat treat shops. All of this is accomplished using Turbo Quench 10 bar hardening furnaces and vacuum tempering furnaces.
Correct utilization of vacuum hardening can dramatically reduce the amount of grind stock required after the heat treat process. This can have a direct cost saving which will allow you the manufacturer to have a competitive advantage.
